Singapore Journey (P.2)
Little India
In Singapore, almost every area carries its own characteristic, from architecture to cuisine and culture. Little India, Bugis, Geylang Chinatown,... Singapore absorbed all the essence of the four main ethnic groups, and blended elements of other cultures to create their unity. Arriving at Little India, you will see a typical Indian temple, alternatively built with Muslim buildings.
Blending the old and the new, this bustling residential area has countless spice shops, jewelry stores, flower shops, sari tailors, trendy cafes, bars and stylish wine. Each location brings a unique experience that cannot be seen at other places. The great time to visit this area is in November during Deepavali, but even if you are not here to attend this Colorful Light Festival, there are still many beautiful scenes and activities to experience in this vibrant area.
China Town
Located near the bustling commercial center, Chinatown is Singapore's largest historical area. It was once known as the "home" of the first Chinese settlers and is the most attractive tourist destination in Singapore.
As the core of the Chinese culture of Lion Island, Chinatown in Singapore today still preserves some ancient architectural works such as temples, shrines, shops and museums. When visiting here, visitors will learn more about the life of Chinese people. People who immigrate and live in Chinatown in Singapore are mostly from Hainan, Fujian, Chaozhou, Guangdong. Walking around these areas, visitors will not stop admiring and going from one surprise to another because Chinatown is like an interesting miniature China for them to explore.
